Maddie's Recovery

On Saturday, November 28th 2020, 18-year-old Madison Harris and her two cousins were celebrating Thanksgiving together as they did for the past 10 years in Georgia. They went riding on an ATV, when they hit a deep rut that was concealed by a puddle. The ATV ejected her cousins while it violently flipped but partially ejected Madison and rolled on top of her twice leaving her crushed into the dirt with a broken spine, collapsed lung, multiple fractures.
Her Dad (JB), Recently Retired from Orlando Fire Department as a Lieutenant, rushed to the scene and was there well before Paramedics could arrive. She was conscious but couldn’t move. Holding hands, they were helpless but found peacefulness in prayer and God’s love that she would make it to the hospital alive.
The X-rays showed a shattered spine that needed emergency surgery to remove crushed vertebrae out of the spinal column just millimeters from the spinal cord. The doctor said that the hand of God was protecting Maddie’s spine from being paralyzed indefinitely.
It is its own miracle that all three girls are alive, especially Maddie, but the Harris family is still in need. Please continue praying for healing. Maddie is a bright light in this world who attends UCF studying undergrad to become a Pediatrician. Her love for Jesus is evident to everyone that meets her. We know God is going to continue to use her to make a positive impact on so many lives and her light will only get brighter!
Thank you for reading her story. There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up in a time of need. Please help lighten the burdens that Harris family must face in the coming months. All proceeds will go to the Harris family in covering medical bills, hotel expenses, physical therapy, and travel. Maddie is still at a hospital in Georgia and has a long recovery ahead.
Thank you for giving.
