Dear friends and family,
This year in 8th grade, I have to partner with a nonprofit organization for my community impact project. The organization closest to my heart is Club Dust. For the past four years, I have joined them in Mexico to build homes for single mothers who previously lived in shanties made of waste. Each weekend Club Dust goes to Tecate, Mexico to help give donated clothes, toys, provide meals and build much-needed housing for our neighbors across the border. The housing built helps give shelter to those with the most need and create jobs for locals to help provide for their families. The people we build for typically have no running water, electricity, and live amongst trash and refuse. My plan is to raise money to purchase supplies that can be made into care packages. These packages will contain basic medical/hygiene supplies such as band-aids, bar soap, deodorant, hair brushes, hand sanitizer, feminine products, and towels. I will also be including a personal note written in Spanish inside of each package expressing my care and concern for their well being.
My goal is to put together fifty packages and personally hand them out in January. Any amount of money that you can donate will be a huge help to my efforts. All donations need to be received by December 12th. My parents will match the total donations that I receive.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Maddie Geeting
