Maddie Pierson’s Medical Funds

Maddie Pierson, a three year old from Dinwiddie, visited multiple pediatricians where she was tested for a variety of everyday illnesses, but soon the families nightmares were confirmed. At the beginning of November, Maddie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

She has now been kept at MCV’s pediatric unit for the past 2 weeks as she undergoes tests and continues chemotherapy. Her extended stay has proved difficult to her brother Riley, 7, as they are close and have been apart for the past couple of weeks.

Maddie’s parents, Bobby and Stephanie Pierson, work full time and any proceeds would help to relieve the stress of being out of work, as well as ensuring Maddie can receive the best care while being surrounded by family. Both parents take shifts back and forth to MCV, which requires extra care for their son, Riley, is costly on gas, and does not allow them to work on a consistent schedule.
