Mac's veterinary bills!
Donation protected

Surgeons were happy with his operation. He’s still groggy but doing ok.

We need your help!! Mac is the most wonderful 12 year old Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever who’s fallen on tough times medically and we need help with the massive bills as we’ve not been able to insure him for a long time.
A chance check up at the vets found a lump, we were there for laser therapy but his stomach wasn’t doing well so the vets had a feel and found a mass :( They also found 2 tumours in his spleen. After much searching and stressing we’ve managed to rush him to be seen with the Ralph hospital (he recently had his elbows replaced there). He’s had a CT scan to figure out how far the tumours have spread, he’ll be having an operation shortly but they’ll only know the true extent once they get him on the table. There’ll be at least 2 weeks of rehab and the continuation of acupuncture/laser therapy and hydrotherapy to make up for the lost muscle and continued rehab from his broken elbows.
We’ve not been able to get insurance for him since the age of 3 as he was marked as having arthritis. Anything he’s needed so far we’ve covered out of our own money but it’s becoming a huge struggle for us.
ABOUT MAC
His personality is second only to his friendliness! He has friends animal and human alike all over the North London communities. Anyone who’s met him remarks on how truly wonderful he is. He’s had puppies shelter under him after a fright from another dog/person. He once found a baby squirrel fallen out of a tree and gently brought him to us to be put back. He’s always being given ham from the butcher at the local farmers market for being such a good boy. The cheese lady makes a beeline for him as soon as we walk by because she knows he loves cheese so much! He absolutely loves swimming, great for his legs! He’s absolutely ball obsessed, happiest boy with a ball but sadly due to his elbows we can’t throw them for him.
So far we’ve already spent £2589.12 on the CT scan (with all the extras like anaesthetic and blood panels bringing it up to £3319.15) and the further surgery/surgeries are likely to be in the region of 4-6k. Anything at all that you can give to help us get Mac through this would mean the absolute world to us and to this incredible creature who brings so much joy to the lives of others. We know times are tough and totally understand that everyone is struggling at the moment so even if you wouldn't mind just sharing this in case there are others who have a few bob to spare it would help enormously!! Thank you so much in advance for any and all support you're able to give.
