Mack's Draft Horse Shoeing Stocks
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name's Lily Cultrara and I'm in need of some community help and support this holiday season. I own and run Freedom Reins Occupational Therapy, PLLC. in Eden, NY and our therapy horse, Mack has some chronic health issues. He came to us neglected and with serious chronic hoof issues that need daily treatment. Unfortunately due to his size and the fact that treatment isn't something he's highly motivated to participate in, getting him to cooperate can be quite the struggle. He is miraculously sound with a drive to live and enjoy life and his condition can be managed long-term. However, convincing a 2,000 lb draft horse to pick up its feet when they don't want to is a fight two 5'0" women aren't going to win without the potential of getting seriously hurt. Our vet and farrier have suggested we get draft horse shoeing stocks, as this is the safest way for everyone to help him. To outright buy this kind of equipment can be expensive and we don't have the extra funds right now.
Mack has become a valued part of our family and loves his job teaching kids and adults. He is gentle, patient and loving; takes careful care of his littles and has a knack for connecting with individuals with autism.
I'm reaching out to the community to see if any local eagle scout candidates are looking for a service project that would benefit the community or if anyone can help at all with the process of getting the materials we need to build one.
I've attached a picture of Mack meeting Santa this year so my post doesn't get lost.
Thank you for reading, Happy Holidays and I hope everyone is staying safe and warm!
