Hi, my name is Jenna Smith and I am fundraising on behalf of two of my nieces (Macinley 15 and Ashtyn 13) who have completely ruptured their ACL’S 4 months apart playing the sport they love and live for the most Soccer,
Their journey-
on the 11th April 2025 Macinley was away in Brisbane competing with the Football Queensland Far north and gulf TSP team for a spot on the QLD team for the emerging Matilda’s competition this competition was based around Talent identification. In the last 5 minutes of the last game while defending the ball Macca was tackled and fell injuring her right knee. MRI results confirmed the worst news for her with a grade two tear in two places on her MCL and a complete rupture of her ACL. This was a season ending injury that requires surgery a 9-12 month recovery.
fast forward 4 months almost to the day and her sister Ashtyn who also represents Football Queensland Far north and gulf. Injured herself playing the game she loves equally as much as her sister in a club match with her U13 QPL academy team. MRI scans confirmed for her that she too has completely ruptured ACL.
both these ladies are talented football players with extremely bright futures. Both having represented their region through peninsula school sports multiple times, the Bill turner trophy (Macca), the Football Queensland Far North and gulf teams. As well as their high achievements through their soccer club South Side comets
Sam their dedicated Mum would never dream to set this up for herself but getting these girls back out on the field as soon as possible is the most important thing and the first step is surgery, we have been quoted around $14,000 each for their surgery’s and unfortunately the club insurance doesn’t cover anything for this so if anyone can spare anything it would be so very appreciated, we obviously know with the way things are financially not everyone can and that’s more than ok ☺️
