On Friday night while out walking my 2 rescue greyhounds a large dog ran out of a property and attacked my smallest greyhound, Macie. Macie was immediately rushed to an emergency vet where she underwent 3 procedures to repair the horrific damage inflicted upon my kind and gentle baby girl. The wound measured 30 cm long by 20cm wide.
We knew that my little girl was in for a battle.
After 4 nights at the vet hospital, Macie was allowed to come home. Unfortunately, she was rushed back the next morning due to her whole wound re-opening.
She will have to undergo a further 2 procedures to repair the damage and at this stage, we don't know what the outcome will be.

Macie is a 2.5-year-old rescue greyhound with a heart of gold. She is bouncy, playful and a golden ray of sunshine in our house.
Macie meets every person with an exuberant tail wag and obligatory lick. She is a playful soul that enjoys nothing better than a squeaky toy and zoomies. She wakes every morning by jumping on my partner for cuddles and isn't satisfied until she gets epic ear scritches and a belly rub.
She is also a companion to my other 5-year-old super anxious rescue greyhound, Teddy.  Macie is Teddy's security blanket, he refuses to walk without her and has cried constantly since she has been gone.
She has become a star at the vet hospital due to her beautiful kind nature and has endeared herself to all the vet staff she has met. My other greyhound, Teddy, has pined for her every moment she has been away and is not sleeping well or managing her not being around.

The owners of the dog paid a minimal amount toward the cost in the beginning but have now refused to pay any further cost. We have been advised that reclaiming any cost for them will be difficult, lengthy and costly.
We have saved some funds for vet bills but have did not expect something as horrific and traumatic as this to occur.
Funds raised will help cover Macie's vet bills any monies raised over the required amount will be given to a greyhound rescue group.
Any funds raised will be hugely appreciated as this will take a huge weight off our minds and allow us to solely concentrate on Macie's recovery.
