Macie's Amputation
Donation protected
Hi friends! My name is Chaitra and I am fundraising for my babygirl Macie. Macie came into our lives in 2017 when we adopted her for my dad's 50th birthday. She was his bestest gal pal and probably favorite child, they did everything together. When my dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2020 Macie was a ray of light and comfort for our family and friends. After my dad passed, Macie was the closest thing to him I had left. She got me out of bed on my darkest days, and having her in my passenger seat on our many adventures always reminds me of all the beauty around us and to not lose this moment searching for another. She makes my whole world a little brighter. Macie brings the biggest smile on people's faces and never fails to greet them with her adorable spins.
At the end of December 2023 when she suddenly started limping. Initially it seemed fixable with some anti inflammatory meds from the vet, but after the limp came back at the beginning of January she almost fully stopped using her front right leg for balance, we had some x-rays and bloodwork done last week Macie has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her front right shoulder and is getting the leg amputated at the end of the month. The amputation will help her quality of life for the 4-6 months the vet believes Macie will have left with us.
Any amount donated will be whole-heartedly appreciated, and all donations will go directly towards Macie's surgery bills and care. I will absolutely be indebted to everyone that is willing to help us support Macie's care so that she can run, spin and play with us again. She was the happiest and healthiest girl and I want her to enjoy the last few months of her life in peace.
