Ciaoooo siamo Eleonora e Sara, ci troviamo in Kenya per un progetto di volontariato in un piccolo villaggio dove vengono accolti ragazzi che vengono da famiglie povere o problematiche con la speranza di aiutarli ad avere un futuro migliore

Immaginate di crescere in un contesto dove ogni giorno è una lotta per sopravvivere. Dove il sogno di un'istruzione sembra irraggiungibile, schiacciato dalla povertà e dalla mancanza di risorse. Questa è la realtà di Machoka e Bryan, due giovani brillanti dell’età di 18 anni che, nonostante le difficoltà, non hanno mai smesso di sognare un futuro migliore.

Machoka ha perso il padre quando aveva solo 4 anni. È cresciuto con la madre e tre fratelli a Kibera, la più grande baraccopoli dell'Africa e la terza al mondo. Abbiamo avuto l'opportunità di visitarla: circa 250.000 persone vivono in condizioni di estrema povertà. L'aspettativa di vita qui è di appena 30 anni, a causa della povertà, delle malattie, della mancanza di servizi essenziali, delle rapine e della violenza che affliggono la comunità ogni giorno.

Bryan ha vissuto tutta la sua vita in un piccolo villaggio molto povero. Quando sua madre si è ammalata, il padre li ha abbandonati, e lui si è preso cura di lei con devozione fino alla sua morte, avvenuta tra le sue braccia tre anni fa.

Non c’è futuro per chi cresce in luoghi come questi. Ma in questi ragazzi abbiamo visto qualcosa di speciale: la determinazione. Di cambiare la loro vita, di conoscere, di imparare, di lavorare duramente. Nonostante le difficoltà, hanno sempre affrontato la vita con forza e umiltà. Spesso trascorrevano i pomeriggi in biblioteca, impegnandosi nello studio e imparando l'inglese, con la speranza di costruire un destino migliore.

L'istruzione è l'unica via per uscire da questa spirale di povertà e dare loro una possibilità di riscatto.

Sfortunatamente, senza un aiuto concreto, tutto ciò rimarrà solo un sogno. Le tasse universitarie, il materiale didattico e le spese quotidiane sono troppo alte per loro, e senza un sostegno esterno, non avranno mai l'opportunità di accedere a un’educazione che potrebbe cambiare completamente il loro futuro.

Con una piccola donazione possiamo cambiare il corso della loro vita. Contribuendo alla loro formazione, non solo stiamo investendo in loro, ma stiamo anche creando una possibilità concreta di crescita per l'intera comunità.

♥️ Helloooo we are Eleonora and Sara, we are currently volunteering in a small village in Kenya helping kids and teenagers coming from poor or problematic families to have a better future.

Imagine growing up in a place where every day you struggle to survive. Where the dream of an education seems unattainable, crushed by poverty and lack of resources. This is the reality of Machoka and Bryan, two bright young men of 18 years of age who, despite the difficulties, have never stopped dreaming of a better future.

Machoka lost his father when he was only 4 years old. He grew up with his mother and three brothers in Kibera, the largest slum in Africa and the third in the world. We had the opportunity to visit it: about 250,000 people live in extreme poverty. Life expectancy here is just 30 years, due to poverty, disease, lack of essential services, robberies and violence that afflict the community every day.

Bryan has lived all his life in a small, very poor village. When his mother got sick, his father abandoned them, and Bryan took care of her with devotion until she died in his arms three years ago.

There is no future for those who grow up in places like these. But in these kids we saw something special: determination. To change their lives, to know, to learn, to work hard. Despite the difficulties, they have always faced life with strength and humility. They often spent their afternoons in the library, studying and learning English.

Education is the only way out of this spiral of poverty and give them a chance for a better future.

Unfortunately, without help all of this will remain just a dream. University fees, teaching materials and daily expenses are too high for them, and without support, they will never have the opportunity to access an education that could completely change their future.
