Mace's DOC band helmet

All pride aside, we need some help for our son..

At 2 months old, Mace was diagnosed with severe Plagiocephaly and Torticollis which means his head is not taking shape the way it should be. We have been attending physical therapy which has helped tremendously with the Torticollis!

We've been denied by state insurance not once but TWICE. With numerous let downs from insurance I found Cranial Technologies on my own through tons of reviews and research.

After visiting Cranial Technologies we learned that his head shape is pushing in his temple, changing the shape of his eye socket and could potentially cause a cross bite with his jaw. With travel time and the initial cost of the helmet due to insurance not covering is going to be too much for us. The first helmet is going to cost $2300 and that doesn't include our gas and travels. With his severe diagnosis, he was recommended he would need a DOC band for the next 6-8 weeks to help his head get to the shape it needs to be at. Then they will  reevaluate and determine if he will need a second DOC band helmet. Treatment will be once every two weeks (5 hour drive there and 5 hours back.) They look for him to need a helmet for at least 6 months.

We've been fighting this journey since 2 months old and Mace is going on 6 months old. We are asking for any help towards Mace's helmet or our travels for treatment. ❤
