Hi there.

I'm Zavi Wolman and I have the privilege of being one of the few selected Pickleball players representing Canada for the 2025 Maccabiah Games in Israel, coming up this July 7 to 22.

It has actually been a dream of mine to participate in these games, and follow in the footsteps of my father and older brother who also represented Canada.

I found the game of Pickleball later in life, but fostered a deep love for the sport early on. I started, not knowing anyone who plays. My wife convinced me to take a class with her. Then I didn't know who to play with, so I just waited on the sidelines of of my local court day after day in the hopes of someone choosing to let me play with them. Then one day, my big break came. I was watching on the sideline of a match and was asked to substitute an injured player. And from that moment on, I never looked back. I joined several leagues in my community and then eventually started my own league. I even organized an inter-city tournament last Fall that was a huge success. I'll be organizing an even bigger tournament in the upcoming Spring.

The reason I started this GoFundMe is because the cost to represent Canada is not free. I need to cover Travel expenses, Accommodations, Food, Uniforms, Court rentals, medical therapists and Coaches. And this will cost $18,000.

And as difficult as it is to be asking the public for assistance, my success will be a success for all of Canada. Help me reach my dream of bringing home the GOLD medal for the country I love and call home.
