Hi everyone, my name is Molly-Joan and I am starting this go fund me on behalf of my brother Macauley and Vicki. On the 16th of April 2022, Vicki gave birth to 2 beautiful identical twin girls Ava and Arrow at 26 weeks term. This bought with it complications of being premature and both girls were hospitalised immediately. After 105 days in the hospital, Arrow was sent home! Ava was still in hospital as she still needed some extra TCL. Unfortunately my beautiful Niece Arrow sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on the 30th of August 2022 at 4 months old. Anybody who knows anything about SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) knows that there was nothing that could’ve been done to prevent this. The family are currently broken having to come to terms with this fact. Arrow never got to live her life or experience the ups and downs of being a teenager or the struggles of adulthood, but she will now live on through Ava and the family. In light of this Vicki, as a mother is now scared and rightly so. Ava is coming home this week on long term oxygen needs. After the recent tragic events the effect this has physiologically is understandable and this brings me to making this page. I have created this to try and give Vicki and Macauley some peace of mind. There are devices that can be bought like a sock or pad that goes inside the baby’s cot. This device then monitors the baby’s breathing, heart rate, movement etc and if anything is out of the ordinary it sounds an audible alarm and alerts the phones connected. I am hoping by having a device like this it will hopefully give the parents a little peace of mind because currently they are both scared to sleep or leave Ava’s side for fear of the same happening. Being a parent is hard enough without this worry and without this truly awful situation. The devices in question are roughly £300 and I am trying to raise this money to help ease their burden in these unimaginable circumstances. Any money past the price of such a device will be getting donated to James Cook Hospital Foundation (the hospital that cared for the girls from birth) and any other care and bits Ava needs as she grows.
There is no pressure to donate I understand we are currently in a cost of living crisis and are all financially struggling. I am hoping if everybody in a position to do so could kindly donate £1 or even 50p to this then we could achieve this target and beyond. Even if just by reading this I can raise awareness about such tragedies. Thank you for taking the time and reading this.
