Supporting the Schafer Family After a Tragic Loss

With broken hearts, we are coming together to support the Schafer family following the tragic passing of Nick Schafer this past weekend at Stryker Sports Complex.

In the wake of this unimaginable tragedy, the Schafer family is facing an incredibly difficult road ahead. Along with the devastating loss of Nick, the family’s two daughters and grandparents were injured in this tragic event. As they navigate the emotional and physical challenges ahead, we want to rally around them and remind them that they are not alone.

Nick and Ashley’s son, Bentley, has been a valued member of Mac Wrestling Club for the past five years. During that time, Bentley has represented our club with pride, earning a spot on the D3 District Duals team and becoming a state placer this past season. We have watched Bentley grow as a wrestler and as a young man, and his family has become part of our wrestling community.

The wrestling community is more than a group of athletes, coaches, and families. We are a family that stands together through the toughest moments. When one of our own is hurting, we come together to help carry the burden.

We are asking our wrestling family, friends, and community members to come together to support Nick and Ashley’s family during this heartbreaking time. Donations will help ease the financial burden as the family navigates the aftermath of this tragedy, including injuries, recovery, and the many unexpected expenses they may face.
