Mabel's Broken Leg Surgery or Amputation

Hi, my name is Ashley and I am fundraising for my 6 month old kitty's surgery to fix her broken leg. She fractured her leg on Thursday, the 9th, and has been waiting to hear back from the orthopaedic surgeon for their assessment. The vet informed me that we have two options, 1) amputate her leg (which is approx 2-3 thousand) or 2) fix her fracture (which would be 6-8 thousand, with their specialist). I am really hoping to be able to fix her leg, but I realize that may not be possible. I received the price estimates today, Monday the 13th, and I am in the process of calling other pet hospitals for their prices.

Edit / update! I have found a surgeon in town that should be able to fix her leg hopefully this weekend for $3000!!! 

A bit about her: Mabel was found abandoned on the property a week before we moved into our home by the landlord and was taking care of her until we adopted her from him! Mabel is the sweetest most loving cat I have ever known. The first time that I ever saw her she had nothing but love to give! She ran straight up to me and rubbed her face on my legs and started to pur. She never ever says no to a good pet. She actually will be annoyed if you stop petting her too soon by giving you this look of total displeasement and meow at you. Mabel is also a total cuddle bug. She will invade your personal space whether you like it or not. When sleeping she will climb on to your chest and just pur until she falls asleep. She also will climb on my shoulder and just sit there, even though it is not the most comfortable, she is happy and that is all that matters. Mabel is also quite a licker. One time she just sat on stomach and licked my leg for a whole 10 minutes. I think it is an act of love from her, so I just let her do it. She is also a cat of routine. Every morning when the sun starts to rise, she jumps up into my 6 year old brother's bed and licks the back of his neck, or playfully whacks his head to wake him up.
