The Maas Family, just lost their home to flooding again yesterday, December 10, with 2-3 feet of water rushing inside their house in Nooksack. It’s heartbreaking to watch them have to start rebuilding from scratch, all right before Christmas.

This isn’t the first time—back in 2021, the historic floods destroyed everything, and it took them months of hard work to recover. Now, it’s all undone, and the emotional and financial toll is immense. Even with insurance, costs for cleanup, repairs, temporary housing, and replacing essentials add up fast.

I’ve been blessed to have gotten to know Jennifer over the past few months—she’s become a close friend, and her family is full of kind, resilient people who always help others. Everything to do with a flood of this size, so close to the last one is unfair, to everyone single person effected. We’ve launched this GoFundMe to ease the financial burden so they can focus on the holidays and the burden of being displaced without added stress.
