Let's get Frankie home

Donation protected
Little Frankie is just five years old and has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She was on the trip of a lifetime to spend Christmas with her beloved grandparents in Ireland, flying from Sydney and finally introducing her little brother Vinne (2) and new baby sister Gia (4 months) when every parent's worst nightmare began for her mum Toni and dad Neil.

After a couple of scary trips to the local Dublin hospital for agonizing pains that only seemed to be getting worse, it was confirmed that Frankie had Leukemia and would need to start chemotherapy immediately in Ireland.

Frankie has always been a strong, thoughtful and savvy little soul, when told she was sick and needed treatment she responded with maturity and strength - ready to get better from the first day.

Now, days are spent between chemo treatments in the hospital and recovery time at Toni's mum's house. Toni and Neil take 24-hour shifts between sitting with Frankie and looking after the two younger children.

If Frankie continues to respond positively to the chemotherapy her family wishes to travel back home to Sydney for the remainder of her treatment.

Returning home will be hard as Frankie's immune system is compromised and air travel is risky due to possible infection. There is now only a 4-day window for Frankie to travel between treatments in early Feb. The airline is currently fully booked so they have been forced to buy business-class tickets at an astronomical cost to ensure they make it back in time for her next round of treatment.

Once back in Australia one parent will need to take at least 6 months off to care full-time for Frankie. Her recovery is estimated to take 2 years.

There are many obstacles ahead for Toni and Neil but they are two of the strongest, most positive and most loving people I have ever met. Always the first to offer support when someone is in need so it's no surprise everyone around them is keen to help which is why we set up this page.

Any money raised will be used to help them with their flights home and cover general expenses like travel, medication and adjusting to this new family reality.

Toni and Neil haven't asked anyone for anything but they need our help and positivity.
