4 year old Emma Wittig (left in photo) was born with heart disease. Emma recently has undergone open heart surgery that has resulted in complications leaving Emma on Life Support at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia.
Detective Tom Wittig, a 16 year veteran of the Whitpain Township Police Department and his wife Teresa have been staying in the city to be by Emma's side.
The Wittig's also have three other children, including Emma's twin sister Madelyn and their two son's who are being cared for by other family members.
This whole process has become a financial burden for the family due to travel, lodging, meals, etc, as they are only in the early stages of this process, which could take weeks or several months for Emma's Recovery.
