This winter, our friends in Gaza need our help.

Thousands of displaced families are living in tents in Al Mawasi in Gaza with no means of supporting themselves.

The Al Mawasi Community Resilience Committee is helping to support huge numbers of refugees now living there by distributing food, clothes and hygiene products.

But the ongoing siege has forced prices sky high and aid is scarce.

All funds go directly to the community in Al Mawasi.

This fundraiser has been set up on behalf of Hastings Friends of Al Mawasi, which is a long-term friendship and twinning project between the communities of Hastings in the UK and Al Mawasi in Gaza.

The project is now in its third year and the links include English classes, cultural exchanges and fundraising activities.

In the past year Hastings Friends of Al Mawasi has raised enough funds to buy solar panels for the community who would otherwise be without electricity, assist the building of a well to ensure a steady supply of fresh water and paid for tents as well as hundreds of nutritious meals for those made homeless.

The Hastings Friends of Al Mawasi community is in constant contact with the people in Al Mawasi and frequently hosts Zoom calls to strengthen the ties between the two communities.
