Northern Rivers Flood Relief

The Northern Rivers Region has been decimated by unprecedented flooding. Help us recover.

Our region is huge and needs an enormous amount of help to get us back to some semblance of order.
Up until yesterday we were a community led army of volunteers, all pitching in where ever was needed. Now we have the ADF to help which has been a gift.

The scenes are equally heartbreaking and heartwarming.
Walking down the main streets of the CBD you are immediately confronted by the scenes of devastation and loss. So many livelihoods lost. So many homes beyond repair. Every business in the CBD has not only lost all their stock but lost their shops.
Over 20 dairy farmers lost their stock;  Four shopping centers decimated;  over 2,000 homes either badly damaged or gone entirely.
 The count goes on.

People in these regions have been completely without power, water/toilets, fuel, phone reception and clean drinking water for 6 days and counting. Homes are filled with mud, debris, sewerage, rubbish, glass, petrol and other dangerous waste. Locals are now getting gastro from being exposed to this toxic environment as we attempt to begin the clean up. 

What can you do?  We do not need blankets and towels and clothes. We simply don't have the staff or the  man power to go through the donations, nor the place to store it.

What we are needing more than anything is cash.

Cash to hire excavators, bob cats, generators, gurneys, wheelbarrows, clean drinking water, gas cookers, clearing and relocating livestock, electricians, plumbers, builders, mechanics etc.....
Cash to replace  washing machines, fridges, driers, furniture, and to rebuild and relocate homes.

The generosity of Australia and internationally has been inspiring but we need more. If you can spare just $5.00 it would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps.
