Hello & Happy Holidays to all!

My name is Ashley Brand I am the niece of Emily Enright. But, this is not about me.This is about my kind hearted wonderful Aunt
who always does for
everyone else. Emily is always a helper
always giving to everyone else, never
complaining about anything. She is
always the light to everyone’s problems
and worries. It’s time for us to be her
light and positivity. Emily and her
husband have always done for everyone
and now it’s out time to help them. They
need our help with medical bills and
everyday bills, let’s give them some
peace of mind, anything helps!  Below is
just updates of how Emily’s stay was in
the hospital. She literally almost lost her
life while there and we thank god every
day this amazing woman is still with us!

November 22, 2020 Emily became very
ill. She had not been feeling great for the past few days so prior to this she had went for a dreadful covid-19 test. Days
went by and Emily just started to feel
worse. The evening of November 22nd
Her husband Greg was extremely
worried about her health.  This ended in
Emily going to ER.  After arriving there it
was hours before Greg knew what was
going on. Emily was in very bad shape
when arriving to the ER. Greg waited
all night for a phone call from the
hospital that did not come. Finally.

November 23, 2020 Greg was able to
speak to the nurse which informed him
There are no rooms available, so she’ was in an area off of the ER. She was on
oxygen. When they tried to wean her off of it, her levels dropped, so they had to
keep her on it. They were giving her
meds. They didn’t have the supply of
rapid Covid tests available, so they had
to do one that is sent to the lab in Des
Moines. But they were having some
issues at the lab. Her chest x-ray showed
things that are consistent with Viral
infection. While they believed it was
Covid, they could not confirm it without
the test results. The next update came
She was  still on oxygen and  IV meds,
plus including steroids, vitamins,
antibiotics, and so on. Her breathing wasstill labored, but a little better. She was
coughing and out of breath. She also
was very nauseous. That could be due to her blood sugar, or the meds., and if
course her appetite was just not there.
They even talked of moving her to
Omaha, also talking of her going home
with oxygen and meds. I can tell how incredibly miserable she feels. But I’m hopeful, because I could hear a little improvement in our short phone call. This is where she’s at this evening. I will continue to update you, the best I can.  November 24,
Afternoon Emily update: This morning, Emily was on 4 liters of oxygen. Mid morning, they increased it to 5. This afternoon, they have her on 7 liters. They were
admitting her into a room, so she would
be moving from the temporary basement area that was setup for Covid patient overflow.  They were starting the
plasma treatment later this day
once she was admitted to a room. They
also add the drug Remdesivir as well.
This was her first hospitalization, so it’s more than overwhelming. November 25
the doctor called, after visiting with
Emily. Not the best news. He was very
concerned about the amount of lung
damage the virus has caused, looking at
the X-ray. He’s also was very concerned
about her diabetes, and said, it played a
big part in why the virus hit her so hard. He said, she’s on 7liters of oxygen now, and he’s okay with that, but if they have to bump her up to 10 liters, she will be sent to ICU. They still had not started the
plasma treatment, and were going to call to find out where it was.He said, if they
can get it today, she is young enough and strong enough, he will give her two treatments, today. He also said, she needs a
more aggressive treatment plan for her
diabetes, and will get that started before she leaves the hospital.

Emily Thanksgiving update:
GREAT NEWS!
Greg’s post!
We video chatted earlier today. She
looks and sound so good today. The
nurse, checked her oxygen level and had to recheck it. She couldn’t believe it. Her numbers are up. So, the nurse lowered her oxygen to 5 liters, from the 7 liters she’s been on. She’s getting there. I’ve yet to see anything, ever beat her. Not even this virus. Many thanks to her care team too! Her doctor is pretty amazing. Super nice, compsssionate, and very devoted to his patients, and he’s very well educated about the virus and treating it. November 27
Emily Friday update: Greg’s update

I was on the phone with her when the doctor came in. They wheel him in on a monitor. Her blood pressure was a little high, which is unusual for her. He said he’s not too concerned, and that the steroids can cause that, as well as elevated glucose numbers. The glucose level, is being corrected with insulin. They aren’t going to give her anything for the blood pressure. She had some swelling in her ankles this morning, also caused by the meds. They gave her Lasix, to help with that. She no longer has an IV bag, so all of her meds are given through the IV in her arm, except the insulin. One of her antibiotics, will be going from IV to pill form. They did another chest X-ray this morning. Unfortunately, there’s no change. She has a lot of damage and congestion. He said she does look and sound good. He said they have to keep working on the lung issue. She is breathing better. They will be reducing the oxygen intake, from 5 liters to 4, to see how she does. That’s a step in the right direction. I’m hoping she does well on 4 liters. There’s really no expected time for her release at this point. He said, they just have to take it day by day. It’s her lungs that are the biggest hurdle. Other than her lungs, she’s doing pretty well. He’s very concerned about her lungs. They won’t know for a
couple days, if she has to do another five
days in the anti viral Covid drug. Because
she’s feeling better, she’s not sleeping as much and she’s bored out of her mind.
She’s got her sass back, as well as her sense of humor. At this point, she could sure use some prayers, that her lungs start to clear up. Through your prayers, God has gotten her this far. She’s upbeat Emily again, and that’s good. She’s definitely not out of the woods yet.

I want to thank you all again, for the love, support, and prayer. Personally, I want thank all of you who have reached out to me. You have no idea how much this has helped me. Not being there with her, and not knowing, is pure hell.

Emily said, the doctor couldn’t believe it either. He also couldn’t believe the changes in her, just since late yesterday. You always hear the phrase, “Christmas Miracle”. Today, is a Thanksgiving Miracle.

Once again, the power of prayer, is more than obvious.

This is the Happiest and most thankful Thanksgiving, I’ve ever had. I just wish she was home. She will get there.

Thank you again, for all the prayers. As
you can see, they are working.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
Saturday Emily update:

Just a short update. They dropped her oxygen to 3 liters and she's doing well with that. There's a small chance she will be released tomorrow, but probably Monday. She will be on oxygen at home too. Not
sure for how long. They did another chest X-ray this morning. Not a lot of change
there. The doctor said it's going to take
some time. He doesn't want to release
her until she's down to 2 liters of oxygen. She has a long road of recovery ahead. Because she's Emily, she's going to want to over do it. So, if you can, please stay on
her about the need to rest and heal. She doesn't listen to me. Slowing down, just isn’t her nature. I know she wants to get back to the bank. She has an incredible employer and people around her. And it’s obvious, by the outpouring of prayers, she has some truly amazing friends and family. You may have seen my post about her leaving the chair empty. It was never really empty at all. She was in God’s hands all
week.

Your prayers, have done some pretty incredible things this week. Some, even the doctor couldn’t believe. You will never know how much that really means to us. We can never thank you enough.

Her biggest hurdle is her lungs. That goes hand in hand with diabetes. They advised
it would be a long road to recovery. The
plasma finally arrived after so many
prayers and so much time of waiting.

On November 30th Emily was finally
released from the hospital and sent
home on oxygen. Her chest X-ray is still
showing damage to her lungs and they aren’t sure how that will play in her over
all health. With this being said Greg has
had to take time off work to help Emily
At home. Emily is not able to go back to work for quite some time and may need
assistance or oxygen to help her. Every
thing is up in the air and Greg and Emily
Need our help they have many medical
bills that are needing paid, regular every
day bills and most of all they need some
peace of mind. They have been through
so much and helped so many. Anything
helps at this time.
