On November 13th, my brother Will had an unexpected stroke and has been hospitalized since. He will eventually be transferred to Mary Free Bed for rehabilitation and is expected to be there for at least two weeks, possibly longer depending on his recovery.

Will and his wife, Sam, have been overwhelmed emotionally, physically, and financially. Will does not have short-term disability through work, and because he is unable to work right now, his employer will not be covering his health insurance premiums. To keep his insurance active during rehab, he will need to cover the full premium himself. At the same time, Sam has taken time off work to be by his side and help navigate his care, meaning she is not receiving income either.

This has created a sudden and heavy financial strain at the worst possible time.

For those that know my brother, know he goes above and beyond to help others in any way he can. He’s someone you can count on to show up for you and doesn’t expect anything back. I’m hoping we can do the same for him during this time of need!

We are asking for help to support:

• Medical insurance premiums

• Loss of income while Will is in rehab

• Transportation and medical-related expenses

• Household bills during his recovery

Will is strong, motivated, and working hard every day towards recovery. Any amount — big or small — will help take pressure off them so they can focus on his recovery.
