In February, young 33-year-old, Lauren Dobbins, mother to 5 year old, Jonah, 21 month old, Spencer and wife to Tyler, will undergo critical surgery that will save her life. But she needs OUR help. Born with pectus exvactum, a congenital condition which causes compression of both her heart and lungs, Lauren currently functions with nearly half of her lung capacity. Although Lauren endured corrective surgery at 4 years of age, she has since developed a rare and much more serious condition called 'thoracic dystrophy.' For this reason her surgery will be more invasive, making her recovery period, weeks longer. Bright, positive and refreshingly uplifting, no one would imagine this precious girl is suffering and scared. Scared of this upcoming rare and crucial surgery that will keep her from being the mom and wife she longs to be for her young family. Together they must move to Phoenix, Arizona prior to her scheduled surgery in February. In addition to the surgery, Charlotte native, Lauren and her family will live in Phoenix for at least a month after her surgery. Her husband will be without an income during this time. In the weeks after Lauren miraculously returns home, she will need care for herself and her boys as she recovers. She and her family need your help to offset the burden of these ungodly expenses that no young family should be forced to endure alone.
