So back in 2009, my dear old Mum succumbed to pancreatic cancer, one of the least curable forms of the C word.

On March 19 this year I will be running in the New York City 1/2 Marathon and would like to raise some money for the National Pancreatic Society. This will make this madscapade more than just personally satisfying in that I will be running in honor of the woman that made me!

Many of you have generously donated to some other of my madcap challenges and for that I thank you. This one may not sound quite as ambitious but for an aging fart with very gammy knees and carrying one or two (or 10) extra pounds of flesh, believe me it won't be easy. Every penny raised will ease my pain and warm my heart.
