Hi, my name is Ross and I am raising money in the memory of Tracey.

Tracey was our next door neighbor on Queen Street, Barkby Thorpe and lived with her partner and lovely parents Dawn and Pete. Tracey's death was both sudden and unexpected. Tracey was providing Dawn and Pete with a lot of care and support during their retirement. Both Dawn and Pete have and are battling their own health issues and never expected to be in the position where they would be planning their daughters funeral. Dawn and Pete want to say a quiet but respectful goodbye to Tracey, but with the high costs of funerals, the rising cost of living (especially for pensioners) and the fact that Pete's car now giving up, they really need a hand.

This is where we come in. I am passionate about friends, family and my community. Dawn, Pete and Tracey tick all of those boxes. That is why I am asking for your help. We have managed to get together some money and wonderful offers of help already and just need some very kind donations to fulfill the very modest funeral that Dawn and Pete would like for Tracey. A lot of you will not know Dawn, Pete or Tracey. They will not mind me telling you that they are very shy and reserved people and ask for nothing. This is not their idea (I do however have their permission). But please, take my word for it, they are fantastic people with hearts bigger than most. I don't give many positive opinions of people, but that family are kind, loyal and loving.

Update;

I have been asked why this is so important to me. Whilst I will happily help anyone if they need/ask for it, Dawn and Pete are a very special case to me. They didn't ask for help, neither did they ever ask whilst we were neighbours. Instead, they had put wheels in motion to organise the service that they could afford. Without going into detail, this was a non-attend cremation (feel free to google it, which I had to). There was no chance that I could let anyone, even an enemy, let alone someone who I care about, say their final goodbye to their only daughter in this way. That is my motivation and the reason I will continue to bombard anyone and everyone until we have achieved the sum we need to have the most basic attended cremation service.

People have asked for some specifics regarding the funeral and costs. At the time of writing this, Tracey is still with the coroner which means a date cannot be arranged for her funeral. This will be updated as soon as we know more.

Some specific costs (although estimates at this time);

Funeral director costs - this is a simple service with the most basic coffin, hearse (no extra vehicles), professional costs - £2000.

Reduced Fee Cremation Service (9:30am service only – 45 minute total slot length) £966.

Flowers - Simple coffin arrangement that Stuart will provide.

Celebrant - Cost has been covered for this from a very generous donation.
