Demetrius Lamar Road To Recovery

My name is Amari Lamar and my husband Demetrius Lamar, was in a car crash on January 5, 2022. He was on his way home with our 9-month-old daughter. I am grateful to God that our baby girl survived car crash without a scratch.

However, my husband is in critical condition. He is currently fighting for his life in a COMA at Rockford Illinois Hospital.

Demetrius is my everything, my best friend, my confidant, and the father to our 4 children, three of them being under the age of 9 with our oldest one deceased. He is a hands-on dad that plays and loves our children. We managed to survive losing our eldest child to cancer when she was 2 years old.

Demetrius has always been my strength and my better half. (He likes to think I’m the better half, but it’s always been him). Demetrius and I share an unbreakable love - a love that has strengthened us to bare some of life’s most cruel experiences and I believe this is the same love that’s keeping him here fighting

Demetrius is a GREAT husband and father and OUR SOLE PROVIDER.

His prognosis has not quite been determined, but the doctors found that he has suffered a diffuse axonal brain injury which will require intensive long-term care.

As much as I hate to ask people for money, I am at a point where I need to ensure that my family’s needs are being met during his recovery specifically:

• Medical expenses

• Transportation related costs to and from the hospital

• Any other medical related cost while he is in long term care
