My name is Lori Mier and I have set up this fundraiser with my sister's permission. Rachel is still just trying to wrap her head around this journey that she is now on, therefore, I will not be providing more than what is needed at this time. I will make adjustments and updates as we go.

Rachel has recently had two surgeries, one planned (and urgent) and then another quickly following due to complications. She spent a difficult week in the hospital. Based on testing, hospital stay, and diagnosis thus far, she has missed a cumulative of at least 1 month of paid work. Rachel headed home on Friday, February 28, to begin a process of healing.

We are all uncertain of what is coming. But we do know that Rachel needs support. We send so much of our gratitude to all of you who are with us already and at the ready with the kind of love and support that Rachel and her children need at this time.

Update: With Rachel's permission I am sharing that she has been diagnosed with stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. She is weighing treatment options and being seen currently at both the Mayo Clinic as well and the hospital where she had her surgeries. None of this is easy and she has a lot to figure out and will for sometime. Please keep praying and helping financially or emotionally. Thank you all so much for rallying.
