Thailand/ Myanmar Mission Trip

This November I will be headed back to Thailand with City Church Chicago for a mission’s trip. Our team will be teaming up with Todd and Julie Powers who are the founders of Empower International. Empower International is a missions organization that have been involved in missionary work since 1987 which is primarily based in Thailand. They focus on church planting, bible schools, orphanages, child education, human trafficking and rescue. I will help bringing awareness, prevention and intervention to stop human trafficking. I will connect with and support some of the most cutting-edge organizations that rescue and provide after-care for victims of sex-slavery, begging rings and slave labor. Human trafficking has become a serious global problem! And, the vast majority of human trafficking involves children. Children without parents are primary targets for the predators. Empowering international is committed to starting, building and supporting orphanages to rescue orphans.
In July 2018 I got the opportunity to go to my first mission trip in Iquitos, Peru. I guess you can say I caught the Missions bug on this trip lol. Because this is my 2nd time going to Thailand .Our team was led by Jen and Israel Arimborgo, called the Arimborgo ministries located here at http://www.arimborgo.org. The Arimborgo Ministries believes that God’s love surpasses knowledge would every day penetrate deeper into the heart of the Amazon Jungle. This ministry has grown throughout the years with church planting, pastors’ training, mentoring and discipleship, youth ministry, child sponsorship, and outreaching to broken families through affordable education. While I was in Iquitos I got the chance to spread the Good News and provided help and food for children and family across Iquitos. I helped locals by passing out food and hot chocolate (they love hot chocolate), praying, outreaching, and helped varnish a newly build church in the middle of the Amazon Jungle. Even though I didn’t speak the same language as Peruvians, there was a universal language of God’s love and Holy Spirt. I am forever changed by the experience and I am being obedient to Christ in beginning the World Wide mission to bring awareness and love of Christ.

I am doing this because I am being obedient to God. Be a servant of Christ and spread the “Good News” like Paul in the New Testament. I want to seek the depth of His beauty. I am doing this because I DON'T want to live a comfortable lukewarm Christian life and fall into complacency.
I am ALSO doing this because when I started to worry about the amount of money this would take He said, "You will go."
This is a season for me to be obedient and help others; I replaced whatever heartache with love of Christ and others. I’ve learned to let go any fear and to walk with Christ. Now I stand stronger, wiser, filled with more peace, filled with more love, and more confidence. Not because of my own strength but because of His. I want my life to be a testimony of how good, merciful, loving, and gracious the God that I serve is. I want people to see the beauty that radiates from me as His because true beauty comes from Him only. This is just the beginning of what He will do through me in this life and as He has promised me, He will hold my hand through it all.
Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
