Help Me Donate My Kidney To Vincent

My name is Kieran Vaughan. When I created this page I was just days away from being officially approved by the transplant team at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY to donate my kidney to someone I've never met (in person at least). Since then, I've been approved and have scheduled the surgery for August 5th. I'm donating my kidney to Vincent Cutignola. Vincent is an educator. He has dedicated his life to inspiring the next generation of leaders, parents, scientists, and more. Words cannot express how important I think his chosen profession is. While I do not know him personally and cannot vouch for his character myself, I'm sure that there are many people who could and would be more than willing to do so. More importantly however, he is a human that is suffering and we can help him. I should probably explain why the funds are needed. While there are wonderful organizations such as the National Living Donor Assistance Center (NLDAC) which will pay for an organ donor's travel expenses to and from the hospital, there are few options for donor's who cannot afford the time off work for an estimated 4-6 weeks of recovery. I am expecting a loss of income of somewhere between $2,400 and $3,600 (you may now laugh and my minuscule income) depending on recovery time. This will explain why the goal of this campaign has been set to $3,600. I will not accept a penny over $3,600 for myself. Not only would doing so be illegal, I also have no interest in profiting from another's misfortune. Every cent over $3,600 will be donated to the NLDAC to assist other organ donor's. Vincent's family have offered to cover the cost of any expenses which we are unable to raise enough money for. While this means that the show will go on even if we are unable to raise all of the funds, I'm sure his family has plenty to worry about during this time and so I'd like to avoid depending on them if at all possible.
