It is difficult for me to write this because most who know me knows I am very independent and private. I decided to share because hopefully someone else can benefit in educating themselves on female health and mostly because I worry my health and heavy debt will hinder my girls' ability for college.
I have struggled with ovarian remnant syndrome and endometriosis my whole adult life. I have had to date 11 surgeries including removal of my uterus and ovaries yet I continue to produce hormones and cysts that resemble ovaries. After my last surgery in May 2015, the lesions were back within months and the past year has been a struggle to do day to day things like work and enjoy time with family and friends. The previous surgeons gave me hope for a full recovery only to be devastated once again. I can only venture to guess how much money and lost time I have given to this chronic disorder. I have missed important events, lost relationships, and spent almost every spare dime on this. Im still paying off the last failed attempt to a normal life.
I have exhausted the expertise in the Kansas City area and was told I needed to find a way to manage my symptoms. It's difficult to hear things like "you were just dealt a bad hand" or " its just pain, at least it isnt gong to kill you" or "are you sure you had your ovaries out. I've never heard of this" I have had many medications, worked with physical therapists , and countless others.
After much research and careful deliberation, I have decided to travel to Atlanta, Georgia to The Center for Endometriosis Care where they specialize in difficult cases and use a technique proving to remedy many sufferers for good.
As you can imagine, the insurance company isn't providing in network coverage and, of course travel expenses, and lost wages are substantial. My goal amount of$ 8000 will get me to atlanta and I can make a payment plan for the rest.
Please consider helping either by donation or sharing this link. Also, please educate yourself about female health as much as possible. Although ovarian remnant syndrome is rare, endometriosis is not. Learn your options and prevent years of debilitating pain and mental fatigue. I am proof ablation of endometriosis does not remove it and makes it spread.
Thank you for reading this. Any donation is appreciated beyond belief.
