33 yrs ago I had the best little group of girl friends, one of my closest being Jenny Kumrow- Schmitt. Jenny was smart, funny, pretty, super bubbly ....did I say funny, she was the funniest thing ever, still is, did we have fun! We graduated, went to college...time and distance made us see less of each other. Until a few years back, Jenny reached out to me, it was as if time had stood still, quickly, fast friends again. Yet, this is when I learned what different lives we had lived and how amazingly beautiful, strong, bubbly, and yes still funny she was after all she had been through! And now, once agian, Jenny has found herself fighting that horrible C word!
Her is my friend Jenny’s story.
Jenny is a 45 yr old, beautiful woman, with 4 beautiful children. In November 2009, Jenny was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, then only a few short months later, February 2010, while fighting the thyroid cancer, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Jenny had a complete Mastectomy and kept on fighting. After the Mastectomy, Jenny dealt with a lot of infections and 15 additional surgeries! Yes, I said 15 additional surgeries! While fighting cancer, infections and trying to hold her young family together, Jenny was also trying her best to support a husband who was suffering from Severe Depression, who in July of 2012, took his own life. It’s now been almost 4 years since Joe’s death, the road has not been kind or smooth and yet Jenny keeps fighting for her precious family. And now, the cancer cells have returned. This time in Jenny’s uterus and in less than a week Jenny is going in for a complete Hysterectomy. Jenny will need to be off of work 3-6 weeks, this will be a financial burden for her and her children.
As you can imagine, she is overwhelmed. I am hoping you can help Jenny and her children by making a donation so we can take some of the financial burden off of her and maybe eliminate some of the stress.
Please consider helping my Dear Friend Jenny. We are hoping to to raise $5000 for the Jenny Schmitt Family, this is a small fraction of what her family will need to thrive, any donation above the goal amount will be put to great use. I can not Thank You enough for all of your help and generosity!!
