Hi, my name is Miranda, and I’m reaching out for help on behalf of our sweet dog, Nyla.

Nyla is a two-year-old pup with a heart full of love. She was surrendered to a shelter when she was just 6 months old. One day, my son and I stopped by the shelter on a whim just to pass some time — and that’s when we met her. She was so sweet, gentle, and instantly bonded with Kai. There was something special about her, and we knew we couldn’t leave without her. We brought her home, and she’s been part of our family ever since.

Since adopting her, we’ve kept her on monthly heartworm prevention. Unfortunately, because the veterinary offices we visited didn’t all carry the same brand of preventative medication, the manufacturers are now refusing to cover the cost of her treatment — something they would have done if she had been on a consistent brand. This technicality has left us in a heartbreaking situation.

Nyla recently tested positive for heartworms, and the treatment is costly. As a single parent, I’m doing everything I can to make ends meet, but the expense is more than I can manage on my own right now.

She is the sweetest dog — gentle, loyal, and so patient with my son. She brings so much joy and comfort to our lives, and it would mean the world to both of us to see her happy and healthy again.
