Hi, my name is Amber and I am fundraising money for my Dad Randy McManus. My Dad is currently living in Ontario and was working as a plumber, he was experiencing back pain but was pushing through to keep on working. In April he received a layoff as there was not enough work , when he received his layoff he decided it was a good time to address his back pain and get stronger for when he returned to work. That is when the pain started to increase , and he began to experience swelling and pain in his testicle and surrounding area. The doctors did some exams and determined he had an infection and started a round of antibiotics, which then turned into a months long antibiotic treatment. After that didn't relieve the pain the did further testing and found out he unfortunately was battling testicular cancer, they did emergency surgery and removed the source of the cancer, unfortunately it had already spread to his stomach, he is now dealing with a 5 inch tumor. Dad is currently undergoing chemo treatments, which are 5 days of chemo, the following day a needle and then 21 days at home. Rinse and repeat 4 times, which is months of treatment. Dad only has EI for 6 more weeks and then he has no financial income to help him through. My sisters and I have decided to start a GoFundMe to help relieve some of the financial burden for him and his wife as they go through this journey together.
