Help us create a family

Hello, my name is Austin. I’ve been with my wife (Amanda) for 10 years and married for nearly six. Through a cascading timeline of school, jobs, and relocations we finally landed on a small acreage in southeastern South Dakota. Our lives were in full swing; we could finally start the family we dreamt of. We imagined, as most do, what our children would be like. Would they be like me, would they be like her, or the most interesting version of each?
Filled with enthusiasm we anxiously prepared for two pink lines indicating pregnancy. Understanding that pregnancy is a timely process we remained patient. Soon a year rolled by without success. We were not deterred, until we hit the second.
It was time to make a decision; we scheduled an appointment with a reproductive clinic in our area. We quickly learned health insurance companies do not offer any reproductive help. Our initial visit to the clinic (covering our basic health information and the procedures that will take place) taught us there was no easy pathway along the winding road of infertility (this visit alone would render a $400.00 bill).
We decided Amanda would be first on the checkup list (insurance covered most of her feminine appointments). We quickly learned she was the epitome of health.
Now it was my turn, most of you can guess what I had to do. The lab took my sample as we anxiously awaited the results. A short time later our results were in; we finally knew why conception hadn’t occurred, my body wasn’t producing any sperm.
After looking into the endless amount of options and 3 years of IUI with donor sperm, we decided to head to Athens Greece for an IVF cycle with a company known as Serum. Our flight is booked, our room is rented, and the procedure planned.
With the help of friends and family we've raised most of the money by fixing and selling vehicles. If we raise proceeds beyond our needs, the money will be used for infertility awareness and donated to any couple needing help starting a family. Your generosity will never be forgotten.
Thank you,
Austin & Amanda
