Graciela’s Journey to Recovery
I am writing this today in hopes that whoever reads this story opens up their heart and helps me raise money for my dear friend Graciela. Let me tell you about my best friend Gracie. I met her fourteen years ago at work and I knew immediately that she was special. She is such a beautiful person and if you were to meet her and talk to her for just a few minutes you would know how kind hearted, genuine, humble, and compassionate she is. Gracie also happens to be the God Mother of my daughter Adriana, as you can see in the attached photo taken on the day of her baptism. Gracie is so strong and keeps a positive attitude no matter what the situation is and I don’t know what I would do without her in my life. If Gracie knew that anyone needed anything she would be the first one to step up to the plate and help no matter what.
Gracie was an only child and her mom passed away when she was very young leaving just her and her father behind. Her father was her life and sadly he passed away two years ago leaving her very sad and alone. Despite her loss, Gracie continues to devote her time to her church, St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Phoenixville, PA where she helps families in need in her community. She has never been selfish with her time when it comes to helping people in need. Her love for God and her selfless life and love for others inspires me every day. On February 3rd 2015, doctor’s discovered a malignant tumor in her colon and she had surgery to remove the tumor. However, after the surgery she could not keep solid food down. Upon further testing the doctors found a blockage so she had to have another surgery. She is now recovering in the ICU at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. After she recovers from the surgery she will have to start on chemotherapy to prevent the cancer from spreading. Gracie supports herself and I know the medical bills will start adding up and she deserves the best care possible. So I am creating this fund raiser for my friend in the hope of raising money to help ease her financial burden. I truly appreciate your generosity for Gracie who will forever be thankful to you. I pray for her that she will be back on her feet to do what she loves the most and that is helping others.
