Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Angelique Dueck, who has recently gone through a frightening and life altering medical emergency.

In July 2025, Angie suffered an eye stroke while she was travelling in the United States, this event came on suddenly and turned her world upside down. What began as fear and uncertainty quickly became a race against time. While she quickly returned and tried to seek medical attention in Canada, it felt like progress was slow during a moment when every day and every decision mattered. Wanting answers, clarity, and the best chance at preserving her vision, she had to make the difficult decision to return to the U.S. to seek additional medical attention.

Sadly, despite everything she did to get help as quickly as possible, her vision in her right eye has now been permanently affected. She currently sees only shapes and shadows, and at times, nothing at all. Adjusting to this new reality must have been difficult to say the least.

Although her insurance covered the majority of the initial emergency care she received while she was in the U.S., it has not covered the follow up tests and specialist care she had to return for. As a result, the medical bills from these appointments, tests, and treatments are overwhelming while dealing with the effects.

Angie is someone who has always been deeply caring and thoughtful towards everyone around her, she is the person who shows up for others without hesitation. If anyone deserves support during a time like this, it’s her.

We are hoping to raise $9000 to help cover these essential medical expenses and give her some relief as she focuses on adapting, healing, and moving forward.
