Help Linda Beat Cancer
I had the pleasure of getting to know Linda Smith when my daughter Jacki was privileged to be in her class at Calvary Chapel Yorba Linda in the 3rd grade. Then, my son Joshua was gifted with her as a teacher, too! I quickly learned that not only is Linda a great teacher, but she is a special child of God who lives her faith. Many times throughout the years I've watched her give of her time and talents to those in need. One of her students even shared with me that she was "his angel," after he went through a very difficult family situation. She is special.
She recently found out she has invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). She has been such a trooper as she went through losing her hair and battling the cancer alone as a single woman. As she prepped for her chemo, a scan was done on her body. They discovered another mass on her ovary that they will need to remove. As she is already undergoing chemo, they are hopeful that the current chemo treatment could shrink the mass they discovered, as well. They will need to do surgery on both her breast and ovary once chemo is completed.
So why do I ask for your support? Linda is a single woman who lives alone. She had to take a leave of absence from her job as a 3rd grade teacher. The school will need to fill her position (for the school year only) to ensure the students are taken care of. What does that mean to Linda? She will be unable to make a full time income for the next year.
She has done some tight budgeting around normal life expenditures, but has new unforeseen medical bills that are beginning to be quite the burden. Lord willing, she would be able to relax during this difficult time and concentrate on healing. Please join me in praying for Linda and supporting her in whatever way the Lord leads.
