Hello there, you may or may not know who I am. But my name is Bo Brady. I am Melissa's boyfriend of 5 years and I am setting up this GoFundMe to help this amazing person. Melissa suffered a medical episode at the beginning of May 2025 that landed her in the back of an ambulance and then in the ICU for 3 days. She was diagnosed with double lung pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and COPD. After surviving ICU, she spent a week in the hospital to recover just enough to go home. However, her medical physicians have now deemed her disabled and she cannot work due to her heart only functioning at 20%. She has applied to the state for assistance and related medical programs, but as you know, that takes a very long time to process.

Melissa is a proud and giving person and would never lean on anyone to lift herself up, a quality I revere to be sure. I can truly say in my 47 years, I have never met such a sweet, caring, and selfless woman.

For example, Melissa works at an assisted living home for the elderly. When I say that most people treat their job like it's just a paycheck, I speak the truth. But not this woman. Melissa was put on this earth to care for people and to treat them with love and dignity. I have had the privilege of visiting this home and was able to witness firsthand the joy she brings to the residents that live there. They say it's not the same without her, but ask her to visit when she can, and when she doesn't show up, they call her just to hear how she is doing and tell her how much the place has fallen apart without her. Melissa loves these people and she tells me every day how it breaks her heart not being able to care for them.

So, there are a few major reasons why I started this fund. Just one of Melissa's medications out of the 12 she now has to take costs $700 a month. She has mounting medical debt and still has to provide for herself and her daughter Danika. With her savings exhausted, I now turn to you for help. Anyone who has known, loved, or just shared a wonderful moment with Melissa would know how special she is. So, if you can find it in your heart to help in any way, no matter how small, I appreciate you. Even if you can't donate, you could just take a moment and pray that she heals to a point so that her quality of life will be long and worthwhile. You could even reach out to her just to give her some encouraging words as this has become a physical and mental struggle every day.
