David Hathcoat has proudly served our country, our state and our community through selfless public service for over 46 years.   He began his public service career with the U.S. Navy, and transitioned into law enforcement in 1967 with the Arkadelphia Police Department.  He later joined the Arkansas State Police as a State Trooper, where he served for almost 20 years.  He retired from the Arkansas State Police in 1997, and chose to continue his public service by working for the Clark County Sheriff's Department as a Bailiff until his retirement in 2014.  David has devoted the majority of his life dedicated to serving and protecting all of us, without ever asking for anything in return.  

The past four years have been extremely difficult for David.  His kidneys failed shortly after retirement which resulted in dialysis three times a week.  Due to diabetes and multiple infections, his left leg had to be amputated in 2017.  Additional complications and infections led to the amputation of his right leg in March of this year.  Following a two month hospital stay, David is finally at home in Arkadelphia and is in  need of your help.  He is completely dependent upon a wheelchair for mobility, which will require major modifications to their house and vehicle to make them accessible.   

We are URGENTLY reaching out to you for assistance.  Please find it within your heart to help this wonderful selfless man that has spent so many years protecting you and your loved ones.  Your donation, regardless of the amount, will go a very long way in assisting with their home and vehicle modifications, medical equipment, and supplies not covered by insurance.  David and Cathy are extremely strong people but strength does not cover the outrageous costs of this major lifestyle adjustment.
