Hi, my name is Christine Green and I am Dawn's Aunt .
Dawn Shaw (aged 46yrs) was found unconscious at her home in Sheerness where she was rushed to hospital on Tuesday 1st August 2023. She was put into a coma that same night and some CT scans were conducted which showed a very severe brain heamorrage (likely caused by an alcoholic stroke). Unfortunately the bleed on the brain was so severe that it was deemed unoperable. Dawn's family were informed that if she miraculously pulled through then she would never be able to walk or talk again and that she would be completely brain dead for the rest of her life.
Her closest family had the unbearably hard task of agreeing to turn off her life support on Saturday 5th August 2023. Dawns passing was peaceful and she was surrounded by her sister, neice, partner and stepdaughter when she went.
For anyone that knew Dawn, will know that the beach was her "second home" as she would say and she would always be down there with her little dog jumping off the jetty or doing 'cook-ups'. There has already been a 'R.I.P Dawny' pride flag hung in her memory at the suntrap by the swimming pool (another of Dawn's favourite spots) where mourners can pay respects, but we would like to be able to have a memorial bench on the seafront so that she can permanently be at her "second home".
All donations are hugely appreciated, any surplass will be added towards funeral costs.
