Di & Mitchel Harvey recovery
Donation protected
My name is Jamie Levet, and I've created this Gofundme page for my dear friends Dianne and Mitchel.
If you're looking to donate to a worthy reputable cause this is it!
I have been friends with Dianne and Mitchel for over 15 years. They are a sweet fun loving couple who would help anyone anytime, and I'm hoping that our Gulf coast community will do the same for them!
Hurricane Harvey ravaged Houston, and flooded homes and cars all over the Gulf coast area. Leaving many in the wake of destruction and desolation.
Dianne and Mitchel were deeply affected by this storm emotionally and physically. However they are clinging on to their faith with grateful hearts that they still have each other!
Their vehicles and homes were destroyed by the 40+ inches of rain and overflow of a nearby reservoir.
Grabbing only a few items each, they narrowly escaped the rising waters because of a few heros who came in by boat. Once they were on dry ground they were transported to a few locations until they reached family.
After their evacuation Mitchel joined up with his crew and went out to continue rescuing others in the Fleetwood area.
Dianne and Mitchel had over 5 ft of water in their home, and their vehicles were totaled.
Water is still standing in their home and surrounding area, for an estimated 2-3 more weeks making work impossible and the home unlivable for the foreseeable future.
So here are the facts:
*The home will require extensive reconstruction and repair, the longer the home is under water and molding the more expensive and difficult it will be to repair.
*Neither Dianne nor Mitchel have a vehicle
*They did not have flood insurance
*FEMA cannot house them
*Mitchel's dedication to repairing his home will limit his time to work and earn money
*Dianne and Mitchel lost the majority of their clothes and possessions
Funds donated will go to temporary housing, food, basics daily needs, clothing, transportation costs, cleaning supplies, and home repairs.
All funds will go directly to Dianne and Mitchel.
As long time Houston residents their home has served as a refuge for many a friend and family in need. It housed the memories of family members long gone, and treasures of a life well lived.
Please consider donating to help them rebuild their life so that they can get back to helping those in their community.
