Help Owen beat his burkitt lymphoma diagnosis!
Donation protected
My Name is Tristin and I am blessed to have a friend named Casey. Casey needs our help, she will not be working for the foreseeable future. She is from Pasadena, MD, she is a mother of 4 beautiful kids. Caiden (9), Parker (7), Owen (5) and Avery (4). On November 1st Casey took Owen “Owie” to the AAMC Emergency room after the primary care doctors she had taken him to, twice, told her he had a virus… it just wouldn’t get better. The ER had them transferred immediately to Children’s Hospital in DC, where they are currently staying with no sign of leaving any time soon. Day 1 they were told the tragic news that Owen more than likely was suffering from a form of liver cancer. Today, while awaiting the biopsy results, the tumors were found in Owen’s abdomen and chest cavity. Owen has officially been diagnosed with a rare non Hodgkin lymphoma called Burkitt Lymphoma. This particular cancer is EXTREMELY aggressive and requires some of the most aggressive chemotherapy regimes in the field of oncology.
Casey has been unable to go home for more than a few hours at a time as she has been by Owen’s side since being admitted inpatient over a month ago to Children’s National Hospital in DC. His doctors have been very blunt in saying Owen is in for a seriously rough ride, and they are unsure how long it may be before it’s safe for Owen to visit home.
This is the time Casey (who is a single mother) would be starting to get ready for the holidays, for each of her FOUR kiddos. Every aspect of life outside of getting Owen well, and trying to be present for three other kids who are over an hour away, is at a stop right now. Casey is unable to work while staying inpatient with Owen, while trying to maintain a home to go back too when Owen BEATS this, in addition to three kids at home who need child care while Casey tries to be with Owen as much as possible, on top of navigating the daily costs of living everyday for over a month inside of the hospital. Please help! Even if you can share the link, that helps a ton! Owen is a real life SUPERHERO and we believe he will beat this! Thank you to everyone for all your continued support.
