Tina’s Second Breast Cancer Journey

 

Hi there,

My name is Lachlan I’m 17 years old and I’m fundraising for my beautiful mum.


In December 2008/2009 my Mum, my great Aunty and my great Grandmother were all diagnosed with breast cancer, they all made it  through that battle, but touching briefly on that, my mum (Tina) had a massive battle with chemo and radiation, being hospitalised after every treatment, she was in extreme pain, and was so physically I’ll constantly!

I was only 3-4 years old when this battle was being won, the details are a bit vague, however I do remember her being violently ill all the time.
During this battle, mum had surgeries to remove overies, lymph nodes in her armpit and a lumpectomy to remove the tumour.

Mum has been cancer free for 14 years!
For many reasons we moved from Sydney, it was during this move that mum felt a lump on her breast, she has since been for many tests, scans and biopsies and praying that it wasn’t her worst nightmare returning

On June 1, she received the worst possible news, the cancer has returned.

Triple Negative Breast Cancer, measuring 2.4cm in size, which has also since grown a little.

On June 22 she was informed that she is Stage 3, Grade 3.

The cancer is also in her lymph Nodes deep behind her chest wall, near her lungs, which intensifies the situation.

The doctors & surgeons state treatment will be at least 6-12 months, commencing on July 4.
The doctor told Mum that he doesn’t plan on losing her, but this is going to be the fight of her life, and she still may not win.

After the chemo treatment mum will undergo a double mastectomy & reconstruction, in an attempt to eliminate any future tumours.

Mum is the bread winner in our home, there is no way she will be able to work as she will be having weekly treatments, previously it was every 3 weeks, as I stated earlier she was Violently ill after every treatment!

I am 17 years old, I can give mum all the love and encouragement she requires, what I cannot do is pay rent, bills, food and other out going expenses.
I’ve created this go fund me page, in the hope that you kind people can find it in your heart to help a fellow Aussie battler.

My mum is my world and I’ll do whatever I can to make this journey a lot less stressful for her.
