On Monday, May 5th, my mom, Michelle, was getting ready to start her training for the promotion she received at work, but she never made it. Police were asked to do a wellness check and found her inside her home, completely disoriented. After arriving at Community North and several CT scans later, it was found that she had suffered a brain aneurysm on the left side of her brain.
Community North was unable to fully treat the brain aneurysm after discovering it. Michelle was transferred to St. Vincent Ascension to be fully treated. Upon arriving, doctors were able to confirm that the aneurysm was still actively leaking. On Tuesday, May 6th at 8 am, they stopped the aneurysm with 2 coils via a catheter.
Michelle has been recovering since and is still being taken care of by the amazing team of RNs and doctors at St. Vincent.
Michelle is a loving, hardworking, and strong mother to her only daughter, Ashley. She is a valued member of the Fishers community. She has made strong connections with her coworkers and regular customers at GetGo since her very first day of working.
The biggest challenges she has to face next will be regaining her speech and comprehension skills. The aneurysm was on the left side of her brain, which is the side responsible for speech recognition. Michelle will need to be in the Neuro ICU for the next couple of weeks to continue to be under watch and begin speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
I, her daughter, have created this in hopes of receiving help with her rent and utilities, along with the beginning of her hospital bills while she is being treated. I work full-time and am caring for her dog at the moment. My mom is all I have left and I am the only one here able to support her.
Thank you for reading this and thank you for your consideration to support Michelle during her recovery. Please continue to pray and send positive thoughts as this would mean the world to us♥️
