My name is Yeunsoon Jeung writing to share the story of someone very dear to us — our coworker and friend, Eric, who has been quietly fighting a heartbreaking battle with cancer for the past six years.

Eric has been undergoing treatment for lung cancer since his diagnosis — enduring multiple surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy. Despite the physical toll, Eric has continued to show up, working tirelessly and selflessly at MarinHealth Medical Center, where he has been a dedicated employee for over 20 years. He never once let his illness define his spirit or his work ethic.

Eric is not only a valued colleague but also the devoted head of his household. He and his wife are raising five children together. Even as his health has declined, he’s continued to work because his family depends on him — a testament to his strength and determination.

Recently, our hearts broke again when we learned that Eric’s cancer has spread to his spine, as shown in his latest PET scan. His physical condition has worsened significantly, and it’s clear he needs help — the kind of help that goes beyond words of support.

This fundraiser is a way for us to give back to someone who has given so much — to his patients, his coworkers, and most importantly, to his family.
