5 Precious Children Need Our Help!

Recently, a dear, old friend of mine received a phone call informing her that her stepdaughter's parental rights were being terminated for all FIVE of her children. A police officer had found her stepdaughter having sex with a man in a car, while the five children, ages 12, 11, 8, 6, and 3 were awake in the back seat of the car. This was not the first time.  You see, her stepdaughter has been on drugs and selling herself to support her drug habit, along with her boyfriend who is a pimp, for quite some time.  My friend and her husband sprung into action to ensure that their grandchildren would not be separated and thrown into the child welfare system.  My friend quit her job and is now at home daily caring for her grandchildren, for whom she and her husband are now legal guardians.  I am not sharing their names to protect the identity of these precious children, who have already been through so much.  Aside from the emotional, mental and physical abuse that these children have suffered, the 11 and 8 year-olds -- the only girls of the siblings -- have been victimized in ways that no child ever should be.  They were both trafficked as sexual slaves by their father and mother, and the horrible scars from that experience remain, as the sweet 8 year-old commented to an uncle that came to visit her and went to cuddle with her, that "[her] mommy said that he has to pay her before he can come under the covers." 

It will be a challenging road for these children, and a huge financial burden on my friend and her husband, as the state in which the children were born, and the state in which my girlfriend lives, are fighting over which state should provide financial support/whether they are entitled to financial support.  Their grandchildren came to them with nothing but the clothes on their back.  School is getting ready to begin and these children are in need of so much.  In a moment of sadness and frustration, I was praying and crying out to God -- "Please do something to help these precious children and lift some of the burden from my girlfriend and her husband."  I was immediately convicted and reminded of the Contemporary Christian music song "Do Something!" by Matthew West.  And I clearly heard from God -- "I DID!  I created YOU!"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I2csO7_pOI

Many of us are blessed with so much -- more than we need -- and my hope in creating this GoFundMe campaign is that we will all find it in our hearts to help this family in need. Every little bit helps, and I know that they will appreciate it tremendously. They have no idea that I created this Fund, as all I needed was to provide my girlfriend's email address so that she can provide her bank account information to receive the funds we donate.  My girlfriend has a heart of gold and has given selflessly to others since I've known her for almost 20 years. She is a strong, loving, kind, nurturing Woman of God, and her faith and amazing heart will allow her to be an amazing grandmother/mother to her grandbabies. They are so incredibly blessed to have her. But, God works through US -- here on earth -- to bless others in need.  So, it's up to us to help!  I've made the first contribution, and I hope you all will help me reach my goal for them.
