Hey guys,
My name is Skylar Pate. I am Courtney and Corey Byrd's cousin. I am raising money for their new born baby girl, Chandler Elizabeth Byrd. Chandler was originally due January 27, 2017. However, Chandler was ready to meet everyone a month early, on December 27, 2016 at 4:32 AM. Chandler weighed 6LBS 4OZ. During Chandler's routine check with the pediatrician at McLeod, they heard a heart murmur and ordered an echocardiogram. Dr. Trant, a pediatric cardiologist at McLeod, read the echo and determined that Chandler has a heart defect called Coarctation of the Arota Arch. This defect is a structural defect of the heart and will have to be surgically repaired. Chandler was airlifted to MUSC only 12 hours after being born. She is currently in Pediatric Cardiovascular Intentsive Care unit at MUSC awaiting surgery. They have her on a medicine that is keeping the blood flowing to all of her organs until her heart is surgically repaired.
The money that we rasie will go to help Courtney and Corey with medical expenses for Chandler. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
