For the last 6 months, my beloved mom Maria Elena has been fighting an uphill battle with her health, trying to return to her normal lifestyle. She is a loving wife to my dad, Rogers and the amazing mother of myself and my siblings Stefanie and Joseph. Those who know my mom know that she is selfless and always willing to help others. She made sure to pass this on to each of us, her children, teaching us to always do the right thing. Over the holidays, my mom was on her way back home to Peru to receive necessary medical care; however, while stopped in Arizona to spend Christmas with my sister, her health took a turn for the worse. On New Year's Eve, she was admitted into the ICU at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. She has been on a ventilator since being admitted. However, she is not giving up! She fights everyday to regain her strength to make it back home to Peru and be reunited with my family who she adores and needs in these moments. This past month has been trying and terrifying and we are beyond thankful for the love and support we have received from everyone. However, now we ask for your help to cover her medical expenses and the cost of medical transport back to Peru as, we have come to find out, there are few to zero resources available to assist with such a great expense. Your donations will go directly to her medical care and transport and will allow us to focus on finding the diagnosis and treatment for her illness.
