Help Joyce Stay Safe in Her Home

Help Keep Joyce Gross Safe in Her Home

For more than 80 years, Joyce Gross of New London, Ohio, has been a loving wife, mother, and friend. She has spent her life caring for others, raising her family, and doing everything she could to provide a warm, welcoming home.

That home is filled with memories of both love and loss. After the heartbreaking passing of her son at just 25 years old — a military veteran who had always dreamed of buying his mother a house — Joyce used the money from his death benefits to purchase the home she still lives in today. In December 2017, she lost her beloved husband, Arthur Gross, to cancer. Through all of life’s heartbreaks, Joyce has remained proud, strong, and independent.

But today, Joyce is facing another battle — and this time, she cannot do it alone. Two years ago, she suffered a stroke and now uses a walker. She lives with her son, who struggles with mental health challenges but does his best to care for his mom daily. Both are on fixed incomes, and while they’ve worked hard to keep up with the house, the repairs it now needs have become overwhelming.

A gaping hole in the roof has left ceilings open to the elements, creating conditions that are hazardous to Joyce’s health. Without immediate repair, her homeowners insurance will be canceled in January, leaving her unprotected. Beyond the roof, the home also needs drywall replacement, new carpeting, subfloor repairs, plumbing updates, and handicap accessibility improvements so Joyce can safely remain there.

This is more than a house repair. It’s about protecting a woman who has given her love and care to so many. It’s about preserving the legacy of her late husband and honoring the sacrifice of her son. And it’s about making sure Joyce can live her remaining years in comfort, safety, and dignity.

We are asking the community to come together and help Joyce and her son. Every donation, big or small, will directly go toward repairing and restoring her home — keeping her safe, secure, and reminded that she is not alone.

❤️ Please help us give Joyce the gift of safety and stability in the home she loves. Your support will not just fix a house — it will change a life.
