I am writing this with a heavy heart, seeking your help for my cousin Karthik, whose life has taken a devastating turn.

Karthik moved to Germany in 2022 to pursue his master's degree, driven by the hope of securing a brighter future for his single mother and younger sister. His hard work paid off recently when he received an internship and thesis offer at Schaeffler, scheduled to start on December 1st.

Excited about the opportunity, he decided to visit India this November to spend some precious moments with his loved ones before embarking on this new chapter.

But fate had a cruel twist in store for him.

During his visit, Karthik was traveling from Vizianagaram to Vizag to meet some friends when this tragedy struck. A speeding car crashed into him from behind, leaving him severely injured and turned into a nightmare for his family.

Karthik suffered a traumatic brain injury, including a hemorrhagic contusion and edema in the left fronto-temporal lobe. He also has a fracture in the right parieto-temporal bone, extending into the base of his skull. The impact caused subdural hemorrhage, swelling, and a dangerous herniation of brain tissue, which requires urgent surgery. Doctors estimate the cost of the procedure and subsequent care to be nearly ₹10 lakhs, an unimaginable sum for his family, who depend entirely on his support.

Karthik’s mother, a widow, and his younger sister are devastated. The very person they relied upon for a better tomorrow is now fighting for his life. Karthik had worked tirelessly to carve out a future for them, leaving behind his home and dreams to study in a foreign land. Now, his family is left grappling with the cruel reality that they cannot afford the medical care he urgently needs.

This accident has not just shattered Karthik’s dreams but also threatens to take away the only ray of hope his family had. As they stand by his hospital bed, praying for a miracle, we are reaching out to you for help.
