On the evening of October 1st, 2023, Angel Bellido Gutierrez passed away at the University Hospital of A Coruna, Spain after 30 days fighting COVID Pneumonia.
Angel was a doting husband, amazing father, and grandfather, and a reliable and caring friend. He was loved for everyone who knew him. His warm presence, noble heart, big hugs, and willingness to help were his signatures. He will be deeply missed.
Angel’s surviving spouse, Martha Lopez, and his family had to face this devastating situation away from home. During this difficult time of grief and sadness, we kindly ask for your support by contributing to this Gofundme campaign. The funds will help cover the medical bills and funeral expenses in Spain.
Every donation is greatly appreciated and will have a lasting impact to our Angel’s family.

Angel Bellido is a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In mid-August 2023, Angel and his wife traveled to Spain for a couple of weeks. What they thought it would be a wonderful trip turned into a nightmare for them. Towards the end of the trip, they both contracted COVID and Angel was taken to the emergency room since his oxygen levels were very low.
On September 2nd Angel was admitted to the Intensive Unit Care at CHUAC (University Hospital of A Coruna-Spain), where he was connected to a ventilator due to COVID Pneumonia. It’s being 26 days since then and his medical condition is still critical and uncertain. Angel remains connected to a ventilator and is unconscious. It is devastating for his family to know that our dear Angel is fighting for his life at another continent, so far from all of us.
Angel is 77 years old, whose main residence is in the United States, he works part-time as a bus driver for disabled children. His illness has brought immense sadness and concern to his family. Due to this unfortunate situation, Angel needs financial support in order to help cover his piling bills, medical expenses, and other expenses associated to his current condition.
We want nothing more than for him to recover and to return to our family in the US. In the meantime, we ask for your support by contributing to this GoFundMe campaign. The funds will help cover some of his expenses and hopefully make this difficult journey a little more bearable.
Thank you for your compassion and for helping Angel. Your prayers and help are highly appreciated.
